Say hello to Zoltan, our Food & Beverage Supervisor.
After studying at university, our Zoltan found his career calling while working in a restaurant in Debrecen, Hungary. Two and a half years ago he decided to make the move over to Scotland, joining the team here as one of our food and beverage assistants. Always eager to learn more, Zoltan’s now snapped up the opportunity to become our F&B supervisor.
But don’t let us tell you everything there is to know about Zoltan, let’s hear a little more from the man himself…
What attracted you to Glencoe?
My cousin has lived in the area for several years. I’d seen many pictures that she’d taken and always thought it looked like a great place to be. I wanted a new challenge and there seemed no better place to take on something new.
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
Despite growing up in Hungary, I am a massive Manchester United fan and have supported them since I was eight years old. I’m also a big fan of watching and playing tennis, my favourite player has to be Rafael Nadal.
Where is your favourite outdoor spot in Glencoe to spend some quality time?
I really enjoy a trip up to the Glencoe Lochan. When the weather’s good there are very few places in the world that can beat it.
If you could describe working at Isles of Glencoe in three words, what would they be?
Fun, enjoyable, challenging.
If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be?
Sir Alex Ferguson. He’s still alive of course, but I’d love the chance to talk about my favourite football team, the importance he’s played in the team’s history and all the players I grew up watching.
What’s your favourite season?
Summer. Quite simple really, I love sunshine, it makes everyone happy.
Which water sport would you like to try on Loch Leven?
I’d love to do a bit of jet skiing or power boating on the loch if the opportunity arose.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Isles of Glencoe?
The location is just amazing, and the people here are great to work with.
What is your pet hate?
I’m a Manchester United fan… so I’d have to say Manchester City.
What’s been the most stunning thing you’ve seen in Glencoe?
Definitely the sunset.
