Summer Mountain Gondola
Nevis Range Mountain Gondola, not just for skiers.
During the summer months, when all the snow has melted away, those little carriage doors open to take visitors up the mountain with ease. You’ll get to see absolutely stunning views over the Scottish Highlands – including the Great Glen and Ben Nevis, and even as far as the Inner Hebrides, all without the hard work of climbing Aonach Mor.
From Saturday 15th July, right through until Sunday 13th August, the gondola will be open from 10am – 9pm, with the last trip down at 9.15pm. And the team at Nevis Range will be hosting a range of events at the Snowgoose restaurant at the top too. On Thursday and Friday nights it’s time for a good old knees-up at the popular summer ceilidh nights, and on Tuesday nights they’ll be putting on Scottish beer dinners, whisky tastings and gin tastings.
It’s not just about evening activities, the Tree Adventure ropes course will be open daily from April through to October, and on Easter you can join them on the mountain for an Easter family fun day. The mountain’s a favourite for paragliders and hang gliders, if you fancy giving it a try, get in touch with Mark or just enjoy watching them swoop their way down Aonach Mor.
If you’ve got some postcards to send, you’ll find Scotland’s highest post box at the top. It’s got its own special stamp so your friends and family will all know that it was sent from the mountains.
You can bring your dog along for a ride on the gondola, and they’re wheelchair accessible too. If there are high winds the team might need to close the gondola, so it’s always best to check to see if it’s open first.
